Sisterhood Rummage Sale
The Sisterhood will be holding a Rummage Sale on August 3rd. Please drop your rummage
at the Synagogue on any weekday. We are accepting clothing, house wares, linens,
children's items, toys, etc. Also, help is needed every Thursday from 10:00am - 12:00pm
for sorting at the shul!
Safety Vests
Available immediately, Beth Jacob has obtained safety vests for our members who walk to Shul.
Please contact Rabbi Hillel or Barry for a vest. They may be purchased, and/or donations for
use will be gratefully accepted.
Social Action Events
Food Collection: Help feed the hungry! The Jewish Federation is in need of the following items
for its food pantry - tuna, canned fruit, powdered juice drinks, instant mashed potatoes,
spaghetti, spaghetti sauce, and all types of personal hygiene items such as tooth brushes,
paper items, deodorant, etc. Kosher items are preferred. Items will be accepted in the office
during business hours, or use the grocery cart by the bulletin board during morning and evening
services. Items are not accepted during Shabbos. Cash donations are also accepted.
St. Vincent: Volunteers are needed to serve dinner at St. Vincent Shelter on the last Sunday of
each month from 4:30-7:30pm. Contact Marilyn Klaben if you are interested in helping.
Shabbat Kiddush Luncheon
We are looking for ideas & recipes for our Shabbos Kiddush. Contact Barry Serotkin if you have
any new ideas. If you are interested in sponsoring a Kiddush the following dates are open:
July 12th, 19th, & 26th.
Chevra Kadisha
The Men's Chevra Kadisha is looking for volunteers. If you think you might be interested
please contact Dr. Tom Hillman or Barry Serotkin.
Shomers Needed
Beth Jacob Congregation is looking for both men and women to serve as Shomers. We would
like to develop a list of people who can sit with the deceased until the funeral. If interested please
contact Rabbi Hillel Fox, Dr. Tom Hillman, or Barry Serotkin.
Table Talk
Now the Kiddush can be food for the body and the soul. Those who would like can join a discussion
on the weekly Torah portion during the Kiddush at a designated table in the Slavin auditorium.
Gift Shop News
The Gift Shop looks like summer! Beautiful and bright colors are everywhere (glass, jewelry, gifts
for all occasions). You can window shop today and shop all week!
